St Billy sings the English national anthem #gb11

Had to take Greenbelt at a steady pace this year and there was a deliberate lack of rushing from one venue to the next. I took a very relaxed attitude to the timetable and felt good about that. Chilled, you might say. Billy Bragg was my festival highlight: a great gig on Friday night, but better yet was the interview he did on Saturday. He spoke of the music which makes him think of home and what that means. His selection included Simon & Garfunkel, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen and Elbow. (New to me, they is) The hour concluded with Billy going to the microphone and singing ‘Jerusalem’, and of course everyone joined in. Stirring stuff. As it happened, I had the video camera handy…

Yeh Billy was great.
My highlight this year though was the film Son of Babylon
