Still blogging after all these years

by Richard on February 13, 2012

I noted the other day that my tenth blogging anniversary has just passed by. My old friend Mark Byron commented that he too has been blogging ten years or more. That prompted me to wonder who else who was blogging back then is still blogging now?

There were early efforts to list Christian bloggers, notably by Aussie Martin Roth. His list was superseded in 2002 by the work of Dean Peters’ “blogs4God” (sadly no longer with us) and Martin, showing uncommon foresight, decided to post his archived list for a grateful posterity. I’ve been following his links to see how many are still active now. Of the first 58 on the list (A-C in alphabetical order), these eight are still blogging…

Andrew Sullivan
Barlow Farms
Blithering Idiot (barely active, but technically still going)
Catholic and enjoying it
Catholic Light
Christianity Today (not sure it’s really a blog, but it is on the list)

I’ll return to Martin’s list over the next few days. Going through it brought back a few memories!

Your post made me have a look at the wayback archive. Oldest entry for me was March/April 2001 for a hand coded site. I was wingeing on about the Sudanese slave trade and the price of chicken.

Thanks for the greeting James.

Chris - the wayback archive is great, isn’t it? I too had a handcoded “proto-blog”, but I’ll not share the url: it’s a bit embarrassing!

This is fun.:^)

I followed Martin’s list several years ago now, and a lot of us were still blogging.

Can’t wait to see who you find.
