Christian Voice in their own words: Why the Co-op Bank was right

by Richard on June 26, 2005

Adrian Warnock quotes more of Christian Voice’s material than I was prepared to and, I think, allows them to make the case against themselves and show that the Co-op Bank made the right decision. Nice one.

I see we as Christians need to just sit back and let a perverted show with a malicious view of Jesus be promoted. (sarcasm) I guess to each his own. (sarcasm)

DH: I think Christian Voice has done more to promote the show than promoters have.
I take it you’ve read the rant against the police and I’ll assume you see in that someone who is broken and in need of serious psychological and spiritual healing.

Two questions:
Is it hate?
What upsets you that a bank would ask Green to take his money and pathology elsewhere?

I’m not condoning overal Christian voice but I believe that still doesn’t change the fact that it is a show that should not be aired. (period) Hence, my previous post. I think that something or someone should do something to prevent this show from being aired without the hatred.

I think sometimes the reaction to the overreaction is just as bad as the thing we are reacting from. Saying this show should be aired is just as bad as the hatred from Christian Voice.

Condoneing an evil show is just as bad as the overreaction by Christian Voice. I think there is a balance between the two that is appropriate to prevent this show from airing.

I wasn’t really wanting to talk about Jerry Springer again. The issue here is whether or not a bank can “pick and choose” its customers if it discovers that its customers activities don’t fit within its ethical guidelines. I think they should.

All i can say about JStO, and I know I’m repeating myself, is that I haven’t seen it. But none of the Christians I know who have seen it found it offensive. (Some thought it a very poor show, but that is a different thing)

Why?

I guess my question is why Christians would think that a show portraying Jesus as a sexual pervert would not be found offensive? I think is one of the many reasons where we don’t show the light to the world and don’t show that we are different from the rest of the world. I also know that the Voice group is in the same boat but from the other end of the spectrum. To me they are both wrong and one is not worse than the other. Condoning something wrong and reacting with hate against that wrong are both equally wrong in my book.
