A quiet day for me, I hope, as it’s a bank holiday. The girls’ cousin has come to stay, so I think I’ll be getting the bicycles out for a ride to Mumbles. I can’t help thinking about the thousands of people who’ve left their homes in New Orleans, and those who’ve had to stay behind and sit out the onslaught of hurricane Katrina. I vividly remember the anticipation of hurricane Charley in Florida last year. Let’s keep the people of New Orleans in our prayers today, whatever we might be doing.

Right at the moment, I don’t know of anything to do but pray. Later, we will see what disaster relief efforts are needed. I used to have family in the New Orleans area, but they have all moved away.
