I’m sorry I can’t join you, but am thinking of you (Pat told me about it a while ago). It’s a lovely thought that someone, somewhere, is always in touch. Reminds me of “The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended“.

Please pray for everyone affected by the earthquake in Kashmir; and for Palestine (which psalm says “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem”? that too). And give thanks for the people doing the vigil, that Sketty’s part of something so much wider-reaching. somehow that’s very reassuring.

Greetings from Caversham Heights Methodist Church in the Reading and Silchester Circuit. It is good to join you in Praying Without Ceasing, especially as our allotted vigil is not until June 2006. Please pray for the Revd Tom Stuckey, our District Chairman (and before that our Circuit Superintendent) in this year as President of Conference. He longs for us as Methodists to be able to talk to God intimately, to be able to talk about God freely and naturally to those whom we meet, and for us to find new expressions of church that will attract younger people to join us and commit their lives to God.

Just want to say thanks to Richard for taking a lovely service between 11pm and 12pm tonight - leading us into our slot of Pray Without Ceasing. I’ve left them at the Church for the overnight vigil. I’m afraid that I have to get some sleep to help in my Chapel tomorrow. God bless all of you in Sketty!
