Getting to grips with tags

by Richard on January 28, 2006

Via this splendid piece at blogs4God comes tag literacy, the best explanation of the hows and whys of [tag]tags[/tag] that I have yet seen. It looks at the personal and social utility of tagging, offers some guidelines on choosing tags and offers a meaningful explanation of the merits of tagging as against a computer-generated search such as google. And it contains the first use I’ve seen of “metacognitively”. Can’t wait to get that into a conversation!

[tags]tag, tagging, folksonomy[/tags]
