maggi dawn quotes an article on tolerance and toleration. They’re not the same.

It seems stange to me that she is trying to promote a Gospel that isn’t the Gospel by promoting things that are sin. It isn’t the conservatives that are stating what is sin but God in what He says through the sciptures. Again she still doesn’t have a biblical basis for what she is saying.

The Gospel is has nor never will be the promotion of sin as evident by Jesus saying “go and sin no more”.

I guess I agree that is why God is tolerant but doesn’t tolerate everything as well. If you get my drift.

Nope, don’t get you at all dh. Sorry.

I guess I see some Christians tolerant of things that are actually things God doesn’t tolerate and what I see Maggie tolerating are things that God doesn’t tolerate. That was the drift. Hense my second post “The Gospel is has nor never will be the promotion of sin as evident by Jesus saying “go and sin no more”. in relation to the first post.

Brilliantly, conclusively - and crucially - put. The distinction between tolerance and toleration which even most liberals don’t get; their mixture of theological contempt for evangelicals, which is unseemly, combined with a moral failure of nerve when ecclesiastical push comes to shove, which is pathetic; their acceptance of the fiction of the unity/truth dichotomy - all these points I tried to argue when the URC was discussing human sexuality (now we’ve joined most other churches in a conspiracy of silence on the matter - we’re supposed to be praying, reflecting and listening, but actually we’re just procrastinating, if not in outright denial).

I say I tried - McCord Adams succeeds. I hope Rowan is listening.

Richard, thanks so much for linking to this - says a lot of things I’ve been thinking for quite some time.
