BBC NEWS: More jobs lost at chocolate firm
Food giant Nestle is to axe 645 jobs in York as part of a major restructuring plan, it has announced.
The Swiss firm said part of its site in the city would be sold and some products moved to other factories in the UK and in Europe.
Union officials have described the cuts as a “devastating blow” and have pledged to fight redundancies.
But you weren’t buying their stuff anyway. Were you?

Perhaps the cuts are as a result of the existing boycott?

great point. Also, couldn’t it be that for the greater health of the company the cuts are needed? Why is it always assumed that job cuts are always the companies fault? If a company is doing the best that it can and isn’t doing as well as it should and has cut everywhere it can but labor then maybe it isn’t always something that should be boycotted? Also, I understand and feel for those people who will orhave lost their jobs but it is better for a small number to loose their jobs than to not cut and the company goes under andthus everyone in the company’s job is lost. The left and labor unions never understand this and thus shoot themselves in the foot.

Bless me Richard I have sinned.
I have eaten several KitKat Chunky bars. I know better because of what they do to mothers in Third World Nations. It’s shameful that they convince them to use powdered milk instead of mother’s milk, exposing children to malnutrition and waterbourne diseases and ultimately death.
I will not do it again.
The boycott is working.

I wasn’t aware of the boycott and the why.
Now I am.
I shall forego my Smarties until further notice.
