Thanks Richard - you’re too kind.

Link to the cartoon is here, or if that doesn’t work go to cartoonchurch.com and click ‘blog’.

Hi Dave.

Brilliant, as per! If I were God and I wanted to show Job all the strange wonders of the (ecclesiastical) universe, I’d simply tell him to log onto DW’s blog! Leviathan and Behemoth are pedestrian quirks of the imagination compared to the acutely yet gently observed, eccentric and sometimes perverse, panorama revealed on your site.

One thing about the internet toon though. The character on the left seems to be a woman. Bloggers, in fact, are overwhelmingly men, the latter much more so than the former in love with the sound of their own voice and ever-ready for a punch-up. Thus I shall be reporting you to the Church’s Gender Justice Department!

I’m a woman, and I love an argument - the pointlesser the better! I shall be reporting you to the Gender Justice Department for denying me my right to behave in a non-gender-stereotyped way. So there.

Sorry Rodney - I made a hash of the link. But I’ve fixed it now. Apologies to you too Dave.

As with all the best carrtoons, there’s an underlying truth as well as a laugh. I saw this yesterday and used it at Shalom.

Beth, I’ll come with you to the Gender Justice Department. Have you noticed that it is often the same person who provokes a response in you? Not aimed at Kim BTW. In fact , I can often guess who will have posted a provocative comment on a couple of the blogs I read regularly. I just “know” what will push some buttons.

Bethan is my goddaughter and I’ll speak to her anyway I d*** well please! :)

Besides, Beth is a lippy heifer herself, and she’s smarter than I am, so I’ve got to pull out all the stops!

More male bloggers than female? You obviously haven’t encountered RGBP (www.revgalblogpals.com)!

Calm down, Abba, all is well! Although “lippy heifer”, yet?

Jan, you’re quite right. I confess that, if I’m in a belligerent mood, I find myself scanning the lists of recent posts for people I know will make me mad! Not so very Christian of me, is it?

Mind you Beth, some of them are really sitting ducks, especially if I am looking for a target.

Richard, you need a preview button for comments. Seconds before I pressed submit, I saw a totally different vowel I had written in “ducks” which would have made me a big target. LOL

Jan: :) Mistakes like that would persuade me *not* to have a preview button!

“Duck” is always going to be a dangerous one, for so many reasons! Perhaps we need to get into the habit of substituting “mallard”…
