The internet plays havoc with geography.

I live less than half a mile from my friend Kim. I see him two or three times a week. But I found about his interview on BBC Radio Wales via Ozzie blogger Ben Myers. How daft is that?

Kim discusses the replacement of Trident with an Anglican priest in typically robust fashion. You can download the programme here or listen via BBC’s audio on demand service. The interview begins just shy of seven minutes into the programme.

Sorry, Richard.
The whole thing came up only after I had seen you on Wednesday, and wasn’t confirmed until Thursday evening, with the recording on Friday morning. Ben snuck it into F&T after what I had thought was an innocuous mention of it in an email about another matter. I warned him that I never listen to myself (on radio, that is!) and left it to his judgement as to whether it was up to scratch. I certainly wasn’t going to presume to bother you or Connexions with, but thanks for the link. The arguments of my “opponent” were so weak that I felt rather deflated when I came out of the studio. But he did get me riled when he libelled Bonhoeffer!

Mind, there was a letter in today’s Independent that made my interlocutor’s arguments look positively Socratic. The guy wrote that the UK should renew Trident so as to have some nukes up its sleeve when the fallout from global warming leads to international chaos and mass migrations. In other words, forget about the prevention, go straight for the “cure”, and never mind that it will kill the patient. I do not use the expression lightly when I say that the Trident lobby really does have shit for brains.

Go Kim go. Well made points, mind you as you say the opposition was rather weak.
