my support and thoughts are with ama. there is so much tragedy here. ama is extremely young to have multiple myeloma - it is generally a disease of the elderly and middle aged. she has 2 young children. by coincidence she found herself in a so called civilised country at the time of diagnosis - it is immoral and inhumane that the british government have deported her. mm is a dreadful disease; it is incurable and yet people can survive for many years - i was diagnosed 8 years ago and am profoundly grateful for the extra time my treatment has given me. i have been able to continue teaching, work on a vountary basis for leukaemia research and play a full part in family and community life. these rights should trannscend political boundaries. i wish ama all the best in her predicament.
