Interesting thoughts. I personally believe every embyo is sacred but I don’t believe every sperm is. Conception is the key and I don’t believe it is a slippery slope to believe like I do. Sperm are only the potential to be life but become life at conception. In all actuality sperm don’t have the potential for life because God new before the foundation of the world what life was going to be. So therefore sperm which doesn’t produce an embyro didn’t have the potential for life because before the foundation of the world it wasn’t meant to be life. I believe we must protect every life and that includes embryos.

I therefore do not believe in research on embryo’s that includes the killing of an embryo. There are other forms of research that can do the same thing without necesitating the killing of embyros which are in fact human beings.

I thought Bishop Alan’s post was good. At least the bits that I could understand were.

Related thought - is it a morally acceptable position to say ‘Both the ethics and science of this are way beyond me,’ and therefore abstain from any discussions of it? It at least seems better than ill-informed-knee-jerk-I’m-with-my-tribe-on-this opinions.
