A bit of Methodist blogging

by Richard on January 7, 2009

Back in December, there was a gathering of former Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the Methodist Conference. Sort of a 24 hour think tank. I should have mentioned it then, but I notice that all the photos of the great and good have now been captioned (thanks to Olive), so that gives me another excuse.

And’s welcome back to blogging to Micky Youngson, who now blogs as Sacred Wells. Micky’s definitely one of the good guys, and I’m looking forward to her contributions.

Fat prophet was the one who first asked for captions and was told it was a quetion of lack of time. I think my function was to assure our President and Vice-President that lots of people read their blog, even though there are few comments. So if you can encourage them in their blogging for the rest of their Presidential year, please do so.

I think the Methodist get-together must have been the inspiration for the former US Presidents, don’t you think?

I can’t think of any other explanation, Pam :)

Thanks Olive it may well have been that a two pronged approach worked with you being and older well established Methodist and me still being wet behind the ears so to speak.
I find that people seem to expect you to know who everybody is in Methodism and are rather surprised when you say you don’t. In respect of the pictures being talked about here I could have named possibly half of them but the other were in a sense unknown to me.
I agree too with your point about encouraging them as they blog their travels around the Connexion and further afield.
