OK, “sporting” and “triumph” are both too strong. But I just passed 2000 on Wii tennis, and I’m feeling pleased with myself.
It happens that today I rediscovered an old school friend on Facebook. Had quite a chat. And I remembered that the first time I played a video game was on an arcade Atari Pong machine with that very same friend. I’m pretty sure it was in Blackpool, but I might be mistaken.
Many things have changed since then. Computer tennis is the least of them.
