Falluja hit by deadly US air strikes

by Richard on September 25, 2004

The BBC reports that at least eight people have been killed in US strikes on the volatile Iraqi city of Falluja, and a further 15 have been injured. The military have targeted what was believed to have been a meeting place for terrorists, but local doctors are saying that the dead include civilians. Several buildings in the city centre are said to have been destroyed by airstrike, artillery and tanks.

But just how will this contribute towards winning Iraqi hearts and minds?

Why did they do it from the air anyway? If they were targeting just one building, wouldn’t there be a more exact way, since they are around there anyway?
