Church on your Wii?

Of course, it’s not real. But it gave me a much-needed smile.

I like it.

I’m not buying it though as I’ve saving my pennies for ‘Church Council’: ‘Be amazed at the sameness of each game, gain points for going off at a tangent and ignoring the other competitors, bamboozle your opponents by bringing every discussion back to the day the minister forgot to visit you, stifle every discussion about mission by playing the ‘we have to think about those who like the 10.30 service’ card….etc etc…(please note: there is a little prayer at the start, but you can skip or easily ignore that)’

Not sure there would be any takers though unless the game makers added an optional decapitation or fight animation…

Grace points! :)

Do I detect a certain bitterness, Graham? ;)
Kim - strangely, I had a Catholic friend at university who used to talk of going to Mass as “getting his points in”.

Admittedly, it is much better than Wii-ing during church.

“…I had a Catholic friend at university who used to talk of going to Mass as “getting his points in”.”

Exactly! If the Catholics are right, I’m OK - I’ve done my purgatory-time, chairing church councils, property committees, finance committees, circuit meetings…

“Of course, it’s not real”

For the moment, anyway.

I’m a Free-Points Calvinist. :)

Not bitterness- a vain attempt at humour! Actually my church councils are ok…just thinking of new ways to supplement the stipend. If ‘Church council’ doesn’t work can I try and market my other idea in development ‘Property Committee’?

Richard 11.19.09 at 7:11 pm

By no means vain: it prompted a snigger of recognition from me. Though I have to say that my experience of church councils has been pretty good. “Property committee: the video game” sounds deeply scary…

The thought that crossed my mind was more “grace points” you move up three pews. Shorly that should be go back three pews!

Spoken like a true Methodist, Kevin :)
