I’ve been using Jolicloud on my netbook for a little while, and I have to say that my first impressions have proven to be correct. Everything about my little Dell seems to work better than it does when I boot up with Windows. The battery lasts longer, the trackpad never locks up - even my 3G dongle works better, against all my expectations of it working at all. As you can see from the picture, I’ve finally got round to seeing if the webcam works. And it does, of course.
Now if only we could do something about the face.
Bye bye Windows. I don’t think I’ll be needing you again.

I went down the Ubuntu Netbook Remix route with mine (9.10 Karmic Koala). I don’t expect to be reintalling Mindows XP any time soon.

I was reading earlier today that it works well on the 701. Hope you enjoy it.

Uh, pretty decent! The wifi connects much quicker than my eeeBuntu (which had, honestly, a 5-minute lag to pickup my home signal…terrible). Will continue to play with it…UMJeremy if you wanna follow me.
