Power and the kingdom

Maggi Dawn posts on some thoughts gleaned from one of her students on Right handed and left handed power.

And it’s affirming to know that we poor Methodists can still be of some little help to our brothers and sisters in the Established Church.

this world not to abolish the Law and Prophets but to fulfill
them. Her student is going to go far and into a blessed ministry.
My sermon on Christ the King fell to pieces right after the
opening illustration. I’m still young.

But even if your sermon fell apart Eugene, remember that the congregation may have heard something completely different. It’s important that we do our best with the structure, delivery, illustrations and stuff. But not so important as the activity of God’s Spirit moving among his people. Even our feeblest efforts get used - because the gap between our feeblest and our best is not that great!
