By an unknown author, but quoted by maggi dawn
Even if I pack the Albert Hall with the power of my salvation message
Or my books require their own Amazonian warehouse
If the God Channel carries my healings back to back
And I make theology the sport of masses
Should I become the spider In the World Wide Web
And Google all for Jesus…but I have no love
Then I am like a dropped biscuit tin
In an empty kitchen
I am a like a bad busker in a windy street competing with a massed brass band.
That mention of the God Channel reminds me of the “teaching” I caught a glimpse of on GodTV this morning. A very passionate youngish preacher with considerable ability to ‘work the crowd’ was holding forth on the grace vs law thing and getting it absolutely wrong. Perhaps coincidentally, I read the following notice on their website:
Right now GOD TV is experiencing an urgent shortfall in our broadcast budget and we are appealing to the entire GOD TV family to stand with us to raise $4 million before the end of the month.
Let’s keep standing together for breakthrough.

Agree with us in prayer
Revelation TV have also been making something of their need for funds recently. Looks like tough times for the Christian broadcasters are upon us.

I trust that you will be fasting tomroow so that the money saved can go to this mighty work!

I’ll match whatever you send.
Maybe.

So what was he saying that was wrong? Just curious.

He managed to re-invent salvation based on works. He claimed still to be preaching grace, but it was grace with caveats. It was pretty ugly stuff.

Richard, is there a group for God TV addicts?
Not that they’d let you in of course, your God TV posts are a refreshing source of merriment.

I am a like a bad busker in a windy street competing with a massed brass band.
Shouldn’t it be the reverse?

* Richard loves his brass bands.
Btw, I think your soul is safer with the porn channels. I occasionally tune into God TV for a laugh - until I start feeling guilty watching Christ being crucified all over again.

God TV or porn? Now that’s an interesting choice. I’ve missed out on the porn in recent years but sometimes I feel real dirty after watching God TV.

Not much difference is there? It’s all just a bunch of gigantic pr*cks.
