Inspired by Maggi and her experiments with chocolate and chillies, I’ve had a little go myself. Green & Black’s drinking chocolate provided the base, with about 1/3 of a teaspoon of chilli powder and about the same of mixed spices, stirred well.
As she suggests, it does indeed lift the spirits! It may, of course, be a coincidence but the feeling of well-being was followed in short order by a headache.
The good old cup of tea sorted that out.

I have a couple of recipes for hot choclate with chilies that we enjoy on a cold evening (in profusion at this time of year). Blessings

Yuck. With the weather we’re having, a shot of cherry brandy does the trick.:^)

You can keep cherry brandy BD!
Ian - your recipes interest me strangely… Can you share them, or are they a centuries old McKenzie secret?

They call this wee storm an Alberta clipper… ’bout from where Mr. Ian McKenzie hails.
It’s even colder and wetter where he is, hearty sort the westerners; nae doubt some of his recipes have more of a kick then the draught ye had this afternoon.
