United Methodist pastor Donald Sensing has a post up titled “It’s Fun to Shoot Them” in which he defends the idea that killing people in war ought to be fun. Now, I’d like to respect the idea of polite engagement on the issues, but I think the pastor has at least one screw loose. I’m starting to think that some people place more glory in war than they do in Christ. Could that possibly be true?

Are we supposed to be in shock and awe here?

It troubles me that anyone is prepared to justify saying that killing is fun. Especially a Methodist minister.

Does this bring up the question that as Christians should we reflect Christ’s life rather than our life? The pastor in this post, appears to be reflecting his own life which was a long and distinguish career in the Army. He appears to have forgotten his Christian garb and his love of Christ as his new calling.
