The Journal of a Georgian Gentleman is an account of the life of Richard Hall, who apparently kept a haberdashery close to London Bridge at the end of the Eighteenth Century. I like the idea of the possibility that John Wesley bought his socks from my namesake.

I admit, I like that idea too.

You’re also one syllable removed from Richard Hill, who in 1504 discovered the words of the Corpus Christi Carol on the 16th century equivalent of the back of a cigarette packet.

Tim, wow I remember singing the Corpus Christie Carol on my family trip to Texas when I was in High School. The family trip was right around Christmastime.

(I’m being punny in that we actually sang Christmas carols in the car when we were in the city of Corpus Christie)

So Tim, does that mean any residents of Corpus Christie who sing a Christmas carol are singing the Corpus Christi Carol?
