of course it isn’t equal… the Welsh can vote on matters that involve only England but the English can’t effect Welsh only matters… no doubt Welsh, Scottish and Irish MPs will vote on the sell off of English Forestry woods… though I do like to be thought of as a slave-driving, colonial master…
That’s OK Malc — as long as you include the ;). Otherwise, claims that the English have been marginalised in UK politics have as much truth as claims of Evangelical persecution in the USA.
Wales is certainly a country or a nation, but there is no way it is a sovereign country or nation. Nor, for that matter, is Scotland, Norther Ireland, or England. To call any entity but the United Kingdom a sovereign country or nation-state can only breed confusion.
